I am searching for .300 Sherwood Catridge

Awhile back I acquired this old Westley Richards Martini actioned Rifle. It is in good shape and I want to shoot it, and need to acquire cases and Dies.

The old piece is marked .300 Special, but after doing a chamber cast I believe this is the same or very similar to the .300 Sherwood.  I have been advised to acquire a cople of  .300 Sherwood Cartridges to "Test fit and fire" before obtaining the components and Dies.

I have been unable to locate any of the them.

I live in Texas so I can receive the Ammo without any problem.

Thanks !

I hope our ever vigilant moderator reads this whole text before he decides to move this post. At first this appears to be a target pistol.

A glance at this photo shows it was set up for a shoulder stock.

Even more interesting it is fitted with scope mounts patented by Fraser in 1885.

The grips are beautifully checkered and fitted. The protrusion at the top rear of the grip strap is an automatic safety that that is released...

I have just purchased this rifle and am looking for any info on it. There is no makers name and no obvious proof mark (to me).
Under the barrel has

left hand side just above the woodwork has an

Left hand side of the reciever has
D6 I-I (it looks like an H but not as even)
above that
M
above that
DF with an arrow through it
in front of that on its back
*L

I can find no other marks, I have yet to do a chamber cast to confirm caliber. I am only going on what it was sold to me as
The other problem is that the barrel is blocked for about 2".

What a Vickers "Jubilee" can do at 50 feet

This past weekend, I took my friend, David, and his fiancee to the gun club.  David's father had owned a .22 caliber Martini cadet rifle when he was a kid, and I happened to have a Vickers "Jubilee" model rifle, which is very similar to the one that he had used, so it was a trip down memory lane for him.

The only range that was open was the 50' indoor .22 and airgun range, so we hung a target and got the rifle sighted in for short range.  The target below shows what a 30-year-old yoga teacher can do when handed a rifle for the first time.  I'm not sure which I envy more, the young eyes or the amazing breathing control.  This is 10 shots, all but 2 of them touching.  We were adjusting the windage and elevation on the rear sight trying to get it zeroed, which explains a little of the horizontal stringing.  I got the elevation right for me, but it was shooting a little low for them.  Three sighters while adjusting, then seven shots for...

I've been having a great last couple of weeks. I've been getting rid of my ugly black rifles and adding nice old rifles. This snap action Lancaster is in .300. It came with a mold which to me was as important as the rifle.

I bought these two and a friend of mine bought a BSA International II from the same gentleman who was selling guns from an estate. Obviously the person who died was a target shooter who liked BSA's.

This is a Model 12/15:

The Piepers have always been one of my favorite little Martinis. I have heard them described as a knock off of Francottes, but they really are quite unique. Just a quick look at the action open should convince the most skeptical among you.
